What is Rent-to-Own?

Rent-to-Own is a monthly rental contract that allows you to pay rent for a building and acquire ownership. Like other rental contracts you don’t build any equity in the building until the contract is completed, then you own the building. If you chose to voluntarily return he building or you terminate the contract there are no refunds given for any payments made.

Can I payoff early?

If your account is current you have the option to purchase rather than continuing to rent on a monthly basis. There is a one time, lump sum payment to purchase the building. Please call our office to get payoff amount for your building.

What if I move, can I take the building with me?

We can help make arrangements for you to hire a shed moving company (most likely the same one that delivered it for you) and as long as you cover the moving costs and have written permission from KLC Rentals to allow you to move the rented property you certainly can take it with you. If you have to return the shed for any reason due to moving you are not entitled to a refund since this is a rental contact.

I lost my job, can I refinance or lower my payment?

If I pay extra do you apply that to the principle?

Since this is a rental contract there is no principle to apply extra rental payment to, if you pay extra (which we don’t encourage) you are simply paying extra rent which delays your next due payment. If you save that extra each month until you have enough to make one lump sum payment for the early payoff amount.

When is my payment due?

Your first payment is due approximately 30 days after your building was delivered, you will receive an invoice in the mail showing payment amount and due date, you will receive an invoice each month via email or mail.

Can I make alterations to my building?

Per the rental contract you are not permitted to make any changes, or alteration the building until you have made all the payments and own the shed. If you would like to make changes you must contact our office for permission.
